022: Monday Morning Meeting Mash-Up: You Think Role Playing is Dumb
Kiera Dent welcomes Tiffanie Trader back on another episode of the Dental A-Team Podcast. The two convey the importance of “role play” in retraining one’s subconscious in order to feel more comfortable speaking to patients in uncomfortable situations. When using “role play” as a training guide, you must:
- Pick only one hot fire topic
- Start with humble and open-minded attitude
- Organize into teams of 2 and switch roles at timer
- Lay out expectations
- Encourage team members, not just office managers, to kindly critique one another
- Wrap up with a new goal
Role playing will help you push through obstacles and overcome unconscious hurdles in order to better help your patients.
