0:00:05.6 Kiera Dent: Hey everyone, welcome to The Dental A Team podcast. I'm your host, Kiera Dent, and I have this crazy idea that maybe I could combine a doctor and a team member's perspective, because let's face it, dentistry can be a challenging profession with those two perspectives. I've been a dental assistant, treatment coordinator, scheduler, filler, office manager, regional manager, practice owner, and I have a team of traveling consultants for we have traveled over 165 different offices, coaching teams. Yep, we don't just understand you, we are you. Our mission is to positively impact the world of dental, and I believe that this podcast is the greatest way I can help elevate teams, grow VIP experiences, reduce stress and create A teams. Welcome to The Dental A Team podcast.
0:00:51.8 KD: Hey, Dental A Team listeners. This is Kiera. You guys, I am beyond giddy about the fact that we are having a way for you guys to kick off your 2023 in the most epic way. That's right, I want you guys to go in to 2023 with direction, with a plan and to actually get something done, done and done. If you've been looking at that operations manual, it is time, guys, for three months, every single week, I'm going to be doing a workshop with you and your team in January to get that operations manual done in three months.
0:01:22.8 KD: Guys, this is a value of over $10,000 that I know you're gonna freaking love because you're actually going to get it done, so if you wanna get your Ops manual done in three months and kick off your January ultra strong, head on over to thedentalateam.com/opsmanual, and I will see you January 5th for our kick-off.
0:01:45.0 KD: Hello, Dental A Team listeners, this is Kiera, and I've got our one and only Dana, she's an incredible consultant, and if you guys have not met her, if you haven't chatted with her, if you haven't worked with her, you are surely missing out. Dana, you're one of my faves. Welcome to the show today. How are you?
0:02:02.2 Dana: I'm great. Thanks so much for having me.
0:02:04.7 KD: Of course. Well, Dana is a unique consultant in the fact that she travels, but she's kind of like a unicorn, and you only see her every so often because she's a busy mama, she only sees so many virtual or in-person clients and does the bulk of her coaching virtually. Dana, how is that doing virtual consulting compared to in-person, like you've done both, but how is it for you, what's kind of the difference between the virtual world and the in-person world from your perspective?
0:02:31.4 Dana: I think the biggest difference is in-person, I get to see everybody in action and in virtual, I just kind of have to dig in and ask a lot of questions, so figuring out what their current processes are is usually kind of what the difference is.
0:02:48.4 KD: Yeah, absolutely. And I feel the same way. I tell people all the time, we can make you great recommendations for changing your practice virtually, but if you want us to come in and see things that maybe you don't even know could be changed, that's where I think in-person really helps, and just like I get more done in-person. However, it's much more cost-effective virtually for offices, so I feel like it's kind of like, are you looking for fast results? Or are you looking for a more affordable option? I think either one gets great results, but Dana, you have been dominating the virtual world, we were working on Dana's schedule today, guys, I feel like we were master scheduling for an office, block schedule day as like today, to be able to see her clients and a future product we're about to roll out. Dana is gonna be the one behind the show, but Dana, I'm excited for all the things coming up, I'm sure you are too, it's gonna be a riot for all the things we're gonna do together.
0:03:39.4 Dana: Yeah, it's definitely an exciting time, for sure.
0:03:44.1 KD: So guys, on that note, let's dive into a really random topic, and that is about meetings, and there's a question that came in from a listener of who should be running meetings, and I feel like it's kind of a vague topic and I love it, and I appreciate you sending in questions because you guys know this podcast is made for all of you, so if we don't know what you're looking for, we can't make it for you. You guys can always head on over to thedentalateam.com. Click on our podcast page and right there, you can actually submit topics that you want us to podcast on. So imagine us being that consultant in your practice talking to your team on the podcast. We've had offices email in on how do you address dress code and how do you talk to team members you don't wanna work? Guys, a lot of these topics are from offices who have emailed in. So, this is one kudos to whomever sent it in. Thank you for that, and thank you all for being avid listeners, sending out reviews, sharing with your friends on social media, tagging us while you're listening in the car. I love to see where you guys are at.
0:04:43.3 KD: So please keep it up, if you have not done so, leave us a review, we love to see those five stars and also share with a friend. So Dana, let's talk. Let's answer to this inquirer's question of who should be running meetings. So Dana, I'm gonna let you take the first stab on this, who do you think should run meetings and then I wanna dive into why I giggle? Because I'm like, well, there's a lot. So you take first s
