0:00:05.6 Kiera Dent: Hey everyone, welcome to The Dental A Team podcast. I'm your host, Kiera Dent. And I had this crazy idea that maybe I could combine a doctor and a team member's perspective, because let's face it, dentistry can be a challenging profession with those two perspectives. I've been a dental assistant, treatment coordinator, scheduler, filler, office manager, regional manager, practice owner, and I have a team of travelling consultants, where we have traveled to over 165 different offices coaching teams. Yep, we don't just understand you, we are you. Our mission is to positively impact the world of dental, and I believe that this podcast is the greatest way I could help elevate teams, grow VIP experiences, reduce stress and create A Teams. Welcome to The Dental A Team podcast.

0:00:51.3 KD: Hello, Dental A Team listeners, this is Kiera, you guys, talk about a killer awesome day. I hope you are having an awesome day, I hope your team's having an awesome day. And I hope you just remember, I say it often and today I'm just feeling it on a high, I hope you remember that we are truly in the best profession that we could ever, ever, ever ask for. Dentistry is something that I've just watched being back in offices, you guys, this bird, she was grounded for a while with IVF and all things personal and moving into our house and all the different things. And so, being back on the road, being back in practices with you and your teams has just made me remember, it is so rad to see patients smile and to be able to help get them to optimal health. And to be able to see team members evolve and flourish. It's just been really, really awesome. So I hope you remember it is really, really incredible to be in the incredible profession of dentistry.

0:01:47.2 KD: Alright guys, with that said, I wanted to dive into one of the awesome topics of team dynamics and how do you actually deal with those interpersonal relationships within a dental office? Seeing this firsthand right now, there are a lot of personalities in a dental office, right? We've got people who are outgoing, people who are introverted, we've got people who love to be task-oriented, we have people who love to be just, you know, one way, and they just like to do their thing. We've got people who are steady Eddies, we've got people who love change, we've got people who are super growth-minded, we have people who are not. And honestly, how do you deal with all of that within a practice? Well, guys, I'll be honest, I'm still learning this myself, and I don't think that we ever become perfect at it, but I do think that we can become better at it. So meaning, I think we can work on our communication with different personality styles, so when we look at communication.

0:02:47.1 KD: Tiffanie, one of our awesome consultants, if you know Spiffy Tiffy, you probably love her, if you don't, you should get to know Spiffy Tiffy. But Tiff is really, really, really fantastic when it comes to communication and training people and talking to people and just building and forming relationships with people. I am not as strong in that, I think I do a pretty good job, but I think Tiff just is magical when it comes to that, and she was actually doing a consultant training. Yes, as consultants, we go through training, we have a good time, we learn different things, we teach with each other, and Tiff was just doing a training with all of our consultants on communication. And I really loved how she talked about one-way communication versus two-way communication and when we're just having one way, it's more like a dictating rather than a communication. When you're truly in communication with people, it's a two-way street, and instead of communicating in our style of how we wanna hear it, we're actually communicating in the style of the other person and how they wish to receive it. For example, you guys know a lot of the consultants, if you don't, take a listen, searching their names in the...

0:03:54.8 KD: Go to thedentalateam.com and click on our podcast page and you can search all of their names, they should be in there. Alex is amazing, she tags all of the consultants, so you'll be able to find all of their names, but Britney Stone. Brit's one of our consultants, and Brit is more introverted. She does a great job of being extroverted, but her natural go-to is introverted. And Brit really loves to just be, she loves to brainstorm with you, she loves to collaborate, and she is my most direct co
